sngprotege & nonturbo 9 mans

sngprotege is now looking for several 9 man non turbo players on PokerStars. We are looking for $10+1 players who can work their way up to the 20s and 30s, or current $20+2 players who want the chance to greatly improve their game and work up to mix 20s and 30s. These players will be working with abarone68. You can find more info on Aaron here and here. The contract length will be 8,000 games compared to the 9 man turbo contract length of 12,000 games.

You can submit your application here.

Bagclip

For those of you who don't know, one of the best poker coaches (and friends) I've ever had in poker is Bagclip2005. His name is Jesse, he lives in Ohio USA, and he is a coach at sngprotege, and would own my soul heads up.

This guy just wrecks. I think his leak is 40 tabling lol but that's ok. He doesn't just understand the games he plays, he understands poker on a really deep level. We've been studying together some just recently and it's really awesome how he helps me notice new things/think of things I never thought of. Not to mention, I'm thoroughly impressed with the coaching his guys at sngprotege are getting. He even has a turbo 9 man player from Full Tilt on the Sharkscope boards. Now often does that happen in a world jam pack filled with $16 PokerStars regs?

Last night I got a text at 2:13am (5:13am for him) saying he won a $51 hyper for 2.4k. I mean, can you go to sleep? He just has to ship 2.4k while I'm dreaming (probably of bvb shoves - yes it happens).

This all kind of comes across as a Jesse advertisement campaign, but really it's because I'm realizing how much studying I've been missing out on as of late. And when we have a simple conversation where he says something about hand combinations or ranges, it gets me. He gave me an "ah-hah" moment and I just feel the need to thank him for it. Poker is hard.

In other news, I'm looking to hire a 45 man coach for the site. I can't wait to add more 45 man players.

Hyperments

Nice way to cap a breakeven day considering in the last 48 hrs I've come very close (final 2 and 4 tables) away from 10k+ cashes which I've never come close to. Some huge (and cliche) losses with AA in key spots etc etc you've heard it all before. On a side note my girlfriend cooks some bad ass enchiladas. Throw on some tabasco and numnumnum.

I loaded up to play a set tonight cause I couldn't sleep. Then with 2 games up realized the server reset was occurring soon and scrambled to get in every game I could. I literally watched as the lobby shriveled down to nothing. I got in a hyper just to add a game. Good choice.

Ty to Aaron for some limit advice.

Please Be A Good Neighbor

My girlfriend Breanna and I are looking into buying our first home at the moment. I don't actually know if it will work out loan wise, but it's worth a shot. Did you know that if you are self employed you have to prove consistent income for at least two years through tax statements? I sure didn't. I guess taxes are good for something after all.

The first step is the banker running my credit report. Then this doozey popped up. One glaring error. One State Farm Bank payment - the loan on my car. Which, by the way, is sitting in my garage dead because the mechanic couldn't fix it and I haven't done anything about it yet.

Here's the brief cliffs:
- Last January went to pay the bill
- State Farm server was down and I thought "I'll return later"
- I thought I paid it because I remembered going to the site a few days prior, filling out all my info to log in and pay the bill. But I forgot the server was down.
- I've paid 37/38 car payments and 100% other credit bills just fine.

ONE GLARING ERROR WHICH WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE

This mistake, however, drops me into a lower tier of credit score (according to the banker) which makes me not have access to a higher loan amount. I called the State Farm Bank toll free help line and they just passed me off to someone else to help me with it, but their offices are closed until tomorrow.

Can I use my one time on this?

Yay:)

I'm really excited as I closed out my biggest lifetime win. It's not amazing or anything cause this is pennies compared to what some amazing players do, but I'm very pleased with it. There was tons of post flop play, and tbh I can't even recall being all in at all - at least not for the entire last half of the tournament. During HU play, ironically vs a guy I coached before, I had 100x and he had 50x.

Strangely enough this all occurred while I was out of town for the weekend. I played this tournament in my gf's parents kitchen which was different to say the least. The only reason I played was to add games while playing the first sngprotege home game. And, well, had to lose 215 in the Sunday Mil obv.

Since completing the challenge, my gf and I (and our dogs) can set our sights on moving. We are currently looking for a house in Roseville, CA. Hopefully I'll have some cool pics in the near future when something starts to develop.
