Day 30 - Home Stretch on Failure

So today I've already played 216 games, and I'm ready to die. Problem is, I'm not sleeping until I finish or until midnight tomorrow night. I still need to fix the missing games in HEM to get an accurate gauge on the red line totals, but for now here is what it looks like.

So, besides those 10 games, I have to subtract $25.09 from the red line from other sessions as mentioned before. And even though last set was awful feeling (-108 so not bad but FELT bad), I had a nice +150ish on the red line woot. So I'm at $9,331.45 on the red line so $688.55 to go.

Oh ya, one more thing. Day 29: +$1,188.50. SAY WAT!

Day 28 - Ya, it's over, but I'm in denial

Soon enough you will receive your winnings guys:). But until then, I'll just keep trucking along b/c if I can get my redline to 10k I save $250 from abarone woot. I think I said that before, but I can't remember. Either way, there it is (again).

So a couple of other things.

1) How to have your opponent drawing dead when all you have is K hi.

I'm still missing some games, and I'm not sure what sharkscope says. I know for sure that 4,112 is the #games I have as of now**. I know that +72 is missing in HEM from the 10 games without data, and I know that about **44-45 games are not in HEM at all b/c I played them on Aaron's computer.

Have a good end of Jan, and enjoy The Superbowl soon enough!

K727QLAXPJs

If you don't know what that title means, don't worry. You'll get it soon enough.

So my trip to San Diego was fun. Won some monies, lost some, but ended up about 1200ish I think. Doesn't matter, I epically failed my bet this month unless I magically catch up to expectation. Oh well, there is still time I suppose. Woot.

With about three or four hours left to go before I had to get my bus (ya, my car is dead...reverse ship it), I got a call from my GF telling me that my bus/train ride was canceled due to weather. Fml, rly? More on this soon.

I got this call while I was at a card room in SD with abarone. Take off your PokerVT hat bro, stop advertising:). We were playing 2/3 NL which is like HUGE for me lolz cause I never play cash and outside of sngs I'm a huge money nit. He raised utg to 9, got 2 or 3 callers, and I called 6 more from the BB with J7c. We each had about 200 behind. The door card is the 8c OMG SHIP and the others are JdTd. It checks to abarone who fires out (can't remember bet sizes but I can assume it's a normal bet size). One man to his left calls (tightest guy at the table). Everyone else folds. Turn is another 8, and I can't remember if abarone check called all in or bet called the guys raise. Either way, it gets in on the turn. The dealer peals a Qd on the river, and abarone quietly flips up his hand and says, "I got The Royal." Really? THE Royal? He said it like it was supposed to be capitalized in text. I crap myself for a millisecond and the freeze. Holy crap...don't card rooms pay off Royal Flushes? OMG I'm getting a cut of this! And then, no one says a word. The dealer scoops the cards, the old man busto nit gets up and sulks away, and it was like it never happened. [x] WAT?!?!?! Screw you, local SD card room.

I won a few pots too. The best was when I got moved to a new table. I was about 65 bbs deep and raised utg to 9 with KK, both blinds called. Flop K72. Check, check, I bet 20, sb folds, bb calls. Turn 7, bb checks, I bet 45, he calls. River Q, he checks, I bet 80, he calls and tables a K. Biggest pot of my life 317 woot. It is lol funny though cause I lose 317 like it's crap pretty much 4 days a week minimum yet this 317 felt like a a thousand cause I never play cash. The only other highlight of the card room was when I hit on an old lady. Ya, that's right, I hit on an old broad. Too bad it wasn't sexual lolz, I just called with a gutter on the flop playing 3/6 limit and actually hit. She had AA and lost lolz. Wow, come to thing of it, I think that's the first time I've ever actually chased a gut shot. Wow. It's so awesome when you hit too, no wonder people chase it all the time!

So after we left the card room, the next step was to figure out wtf to do about getting home. It was pouring rain, and as we were walking back to the car we cut through an alley. We inched slowly across the curbside so we wouldn't step in the huge flood of water the consumed the alley. I thought I saw an opening I could hop through so I leaped...crap. Good bye clean new shoes. Once I already was soaked I just said F it and trotted along through the water. At least our winnings weren't soaked like my pants and shoes. Abarone walked away with 154, and I raked in a cool 197. Both of us starting with 200. Ship!

When we got back to his place, I called up Amtrak and tried to figure stuff out. No help at all. We then found a plane that could take me home later that night. Since he lives like 10 minutes from the airport, it seemed like a solid idea. Well, solid until the price was found - $260. The bus/train was only 48, omg life is so rigged. So I decided to let the little old lady's cracked aces and top pair no good money go towards the plane. I rushed to pack everything up, packed my computer and monitor in my large bag cause I couldn't carry it on like the bus/train (big mistake), and booked my flight over the phone with someone who sounded like they shouldn't be allowed in an airport (ya, I said it). With only about an hour or so to spare, abarone dropped me off at the WRONG terminal. Neither of us knew it was wrong, but I learned that I was on the other side of the airport when I walked inside to United Airlines (not United Express where I should have been) and an elderly lady pointed me in the right direction. She looked like the kind of lady who runs about 5/3 and she did look vaguely familiar. "Did I spike a T on the turn against you, ma'am?" Ah, if only we said what we thought. She sent me on a shuttle across the airport, and I arrived at United Express. I walked in, and it was eerily quiet. I approached the desk and the man weighed my bag. 48lbs. If it was 50lbs, it would cost $125 more. Whew. As I said goodbye to the last time I would see my monitor without a gash in it, I walked over to the security check point. I basically had to remove 80% of my clothing, ditch my shaving cream b/c it's a threat apparently (aerosol can I guess), and get patted down by a 50 year old security guard wearing blue latex gloves. When everything was taken care of, I waited in the lobby for the plane. It was the first time ever I had to walk TO the plane. Like, actually walking up the steps of the plane. It felt like a scene from 24 (new season now, check it out!) where Jack Bauer does something baller. My flight was a two parter. From San Diego to LA, and LA to Fresno. When I got to LA, I had some time to kill so I went and got a burger. When I was sitting at the bar, the lady next to me started to chat it up. She was in her mid 40s, definitely looked like at one point in her life she was very attractive, but at this present time I think the most fitting term is "no dice." I noticed her left hand ring finger was vacant, so it just made the situation that much more awkward. We chatted for a bit and she left. I finished my Bacon Melt and fries (so good) and walked out to wait for my plane. That's when it hit me. I looked down at my pants. Shit. I was in my PJs. I was in my friggin pajamas at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) at 10 at night. WTF is going on here? It felt so random, so unplanned, so retarded. I heard the announcement for my plane, so I walked back in, took the short flight to Fresno, got picked up, and called it a night. A weird, twisted night.

Day 17 - Spontaneity

So yesterday I only played 1 set. yay, -50. Yay, -700 straight now. But, the good side, went to get a professional massage and omfg it was so nice. On the way back, a little craziness broke out and before I knew it I had made plans to go to San Diego to visit abarone68. For those of you who don't know, dude is legit. PokerVT instructor, sng megastar imho, and the guy who taught me poker from day 1. Apparently I use to raise 10x with small pairs - who knew?

So I started packing my stuff together and got on Expedia (*dooot cooom* in choir voices) to find a plane ticket. I called up Aaron, let him know the ticket was only $330, and it was on. He said he'd call me back in 20 minutes after he finished his set to verify the times for the flight. Well, 20 minutes later the ticket price was $480 so F that no thx. So the next idea was to take a train. Bah, I'll just drive. But I had to fix my car battery, so I packed up to drive to a Pep boys and get it replaced. I jump started my car outside, took off, and, crap...made it to the stop sign down the block before my car went dead. So my girlfriend and I had to jump start the car again, but this time it wouldn't turn on at all. We ended up pushing it down the street back in front of my place. Jeez, and pushing it up a slight slant in the road is SO hard. I drive (or drove :/) a Jeep Grand Cherokee so it's a pretty hefty POS. We ended up getting it done in about 30 minutes and all we traveled was about 300 feet. What a night.

Still inspired to go to San Diego, I bought a train ticket for a 7 hour ride that left last night around 10pm. I arrived in SD at about 5:45am this morning and then walked more than 12 blocks to Aaron's place b/c "[his] car was blocked in" blah blah blah. I had a fat rolling suitcase with my computer inside and a pillow with my monitor shoved in there for protection. Wow, monitors are a pain in the ass to carry uphill.

When I finally got to his place, we set out on a mission. Play, non stop, play. I mean, we took breaks and played some HU every once in a while. Got fat coolered on a board of AQ2x5 where I had AA vs his 43o and got it in on the river. Mother f****r. But hopefully this is the beginning of the turn around. I've made 900 today (woot) and Aaron has made about the same. We've almost raked in 2k combined in <14 hrs of playing. Have I done anything differently? Eh, not really. One huge thing though, I tossed my HUD. At least for now, I'm just not using HUD and I will trust myself (more than normal) and not let stats influence my decisions. I will be playing tons of games while I'm here, and plan on leaving on Wednesday. So until then, I'll be trying really hard to get back on top of this bet.

One more thing...the day before I left - even before thinking "hey, I'm going to SD" - I had some Chinese food. I opened my fortune cookie and thought "plz say 'you will run at expectation,' plz say 'you will run at expectation." Even though most cookie messages are incredibly vague, mine actually made some sense. It says, "The project you have in mind will soon gain momentum." So, one of two things is going to happen very soon. I will make a run at the most epic come from behind victory...or I will officially disprove Chinese culture.

Midway through day 15

About 24 hrs from now will be the half way mark. But, for now, cue the 25 BI drop. I was up to 3700, now back to 3300. I was/am really hoping to hit 4k by the midway point, but doesn't look like it's gonna happen unless things flip fast.

Midway through Day 13

Am I on pace? No, but my red line is.
Can I do it? No(t sure).
Will I give up? No(t yet).
Am I watching the new season of American Idol? ldo.

Here is my graph up to now (about 6pm-ish on the 13th). My redline has taken a drop, but is at 12% on the dot. Yesterday it was up to 12.9. 9 games have been missed which total +72.

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention something. I believe I know where my losses are occurring so far in 2010. Check out the 200/400 level. Yes, that's right. I'm +58k chips...out of...LOOK! Oh, and I think it's worth mentioning, I didn't cross the +0 mark at 200/400 until YESTERDAY! Besides 2010, my most profitable blind level is bb400. What a crap shoot:). This is why my finish distribution is skewed towards 2nd/3rd and this is the main reason why I'm so far below the red line. I smell a heater! Wait, no, it's a fart.

Apart from that, I'm just taking a small breather right now. Here are some hands for you guys to huff and puff over. Hmm, note to self, no more 3 little pig references.

Almost done with Day 10 - Hating Life

As some of you probably noticed by now, it's going crappy. Even guys who read this blog are getting unnecessary hands to rub in my face. QQ vs TT. xxx flop. T...T. One T is fine, k thnx:). Anyway, I was sharing some pics with a friend, so I thought I'd post them on here since they are interesting and don't take too much time. I realized last night - and maybe this is some sort of sign I don't know - that January 31st will mark the last day before I have officially been playing 16s for one year. So maybe it will be fitting that I achieve 10k? Or be fitting that I get my ass handed to me for an anniversary present:).

Anyway, I broke up my results in HEM that mark my milestones as a player. From Feb 1 - Apr 30 is block 1.

Starting in May, I did a 10k bet (but combined profit from coaching, 1 supernova bonus, and BOP, and some videos) and I made just over 10k that month. I had another one a couple months later too with combined profit. Those 1.5k nova bonuses rly help!! So block 2 is May 1 - Sept 30 which ended in a little 5 day bet of 1k games and 2k profit which I achieved for +2.3k in 5 days (WHERE IS THAT NOW?!?!?!?!).

Starting Oct 1, things didn't go right. I started falling big time, and even switched to 18s a lot. Block 3 is Oct 1 - Dec 31.

And, of course, block 4 is 2010 thus far.

Please note that these results aren't completely accurate due to the "not finished" section in HEM. In block 1, I lost 500 (40 games) due to internet connections. And basically all not finished games besides those are due to my idiocy because everytime I closed Stars after a set, it missed the final game. Since most final games are cashes - and usually wins - my results are off. In the block 2 graph alone, my real roi was 12 and I made 24k. HEM missed 4k profit!!! But, that redline, is what gives me hope. Block 2, that greenline somehow always gravitates to that redline whether going up or down. The only thing still giving me a glimmer of hope is that I have the best redline now that I have had ever. It is currently at 12.2% ROI ...and that's the lowest it has gotten this month:(. It has mostly been hovering at 13.

Almost done with Day 7

I'll prob play a few more tonight as I'm a tad behind on my 200 games/day goal. It's nice that things are starting to semi-turn around. It's also slightly motivating to see the red line be on pace for 10k even though my actual results aren't. I should mention though, that I have noticed some discrepancies on sharkscope from my actual results. Yesterday, I noticed 3 games missing on there and just now found that my HEM missed it's second game (a loss ugh). I know for a fact that my HEM is dead on except for a 2nd place and a no cash. So my actual results, at least as of now, are $8.50 (24.50 2nd place - 16 buy in) above what my HEM says. This bet is killing me. How do people do these things? Sheesh.

Mid way through day 4

Crushed. That's it. Getting crushed. My high was $1,016 on Day 2 I think. Check out my red line. Plz start running good, kthnx.
